Walking safaris in the shadow of Mount Meru
Small, green and close to town, Arusha National Park offers walking safaris with an armed ranger, canoeing on the Momella Lakes and views of Mount Meru and, on clear days, Kilimanjaro.
Arusha National Park covers 552 km² from the Ngurdoto Crater to the summit of Mount Meru, at 4,566 m Tanzania’s second-highest mountain. It is about 45 minutes from Arusha town, which makes it a good first or last day of a trip.
