Exotic Legacy Safaris and Tours

Responsible travel

Tourism pays for the protection of Tanzania’s parks and supports thousands of local jobs. These are the commitments we make on every trip.

Kilimanjaro porters climbing the Barranco Wall

Fair treatment of mountain crews

Porters carry the camp up Kilimanjaro. We keep loads within the park’s 20 kg limit, pay fair wages, and provide proper food, sleeping tents and warm clothing for every crew member.

In the parks

  • We stay on the tracks and keep a respectful distance from wildlife.
  • We never chase, crowd or feed animals for a photograph.
  • Everything we carry in, we carry out.

Plastic

Tanzania banned plastic carrier bags in 2019, and they may be confiscated when you arrive. Please pack in cloth or paper bags. We provide refillable water in our vehicles to cut down on single-use bottles.

Local communities

We work with Tanzanian guides, cooks and drivers, use locally owned lodges where we can, and arrange cultural visits run by the communities themselves.
